Welcome to the Blog for the Canadian Regional Director Reports

Regional News - Canada
December 2015

Greetings fellow Canadian Mathematics Leaders, and welcome to this new blog.  This is a new idea for the regional reports, and I hope to take advantage of the features that a blog format can offer vs. the customary quarterly web reports.

Specifically:

  • The reports won’t be limited to quarterly time intervals, but instead can be posted anytime.  Not only can events be announced and reported on as soon as the information becomes available, but also news information that is relevant in our roles as mathematics leaders in Canada.
  • I also hope that we can engage in discussions.  As vast and different as our country is from coast to coast, we face many of the same issues, and opportunities!  My hope is that this forum can be a place in which we can share (by posting comments) our challenges and successes, guided by themes that will be specified in future posts.

Your first task, and I hope you choose to accept it, is to post a question (see “Leave a Reply” below) that you would like us to discuss and share around.  What are some burning or emerging issues that you face?  Believe me, you’re not alone.  Have a success story? Please share it.  If you’d rather contact me directly, please don’t hesitate to send me an email.

Are there any suggestions for suitable NCSM materials to translate into French? Also a test of the blog.

    Thanks for trying something different.
