The Leadership Academy Will Focus On:
- Common Core State Standards (CCSS):
Actions to support implementation in your school, district, or region. - Mathematics Specialists, Instructional Coaches, and District Coordinators:
Strategies to support your professional growth and work with teachers and administrators. - Actions to Address the Vision and Expectations of the CCSS:
Strategies to guide every colleague, faculty member, and school leader.
- Exploring the Mathematics Standards as described by the grade level and course level Domains of the CCSS.
- Using research-informed best practices in teaching and learning, as described by the eight CCSS Mathematical Practices Standards.
- Understanding summative and formative assessment practices, as described in the new vision for assessment of K-12 mathematics
Leadership Academy Features
- Specific elementary, middle, and high school grade level focus
- CCSS Mathematical Practices
- CCSS content domains, learning trajectories, & instructional scope and sequencing
- NCSM tools to support the CCSS
- PARCC and SBAC Assessment session
- Rich and engaging content explicitly designed for mathematics education leaders
- Practical suggestions and specific next steps for site work
- Research-based strategies for getting results

Registration Confirmation
You will receive an email confirmation, which will serve as a receipt, if you've included an email address in your profile. Allow 2-3 weeks for processing. Registration becomes effective only when payment is received. If you have not received your registration confirmation within a week of the academy you've registered for, call NCSM Member and Conference Services at (303) 758-9611.
Late Registration
We will do our best to accommodate registrations received after the deadline on a space-available basis and with a $25 late charge.
Cancellation Policy
NCSM will refund Academy registration fees following the schedule below:

NCSM Membership Information
Membership can be renewed along with your academy registration. If your NCSM membership expires before the end of the month of the academy that you want to attend, you must renew in order to register for the academy at the discounted member rate.
Nonmembers may join NCSM before registering for the Academy at the discounted member rate.

NCSM is now accepting invitations to host our 2012 3-day NCSM Leadership Academy.

Why Host an NCSM Leadership Academy?
- To bring an NCSM national professional development experience to large numbers of mathematics education leaders in your district and surrounding area. (Minimize travel costs!)
- To engage all members of your local leadership team in a shared professional learning and planning experience.
- To negotiate dates that best suit your need (between June 11 and August 17, 2012).
Among the Responsibilities of the Host
- Guarantee 25-30 paid attendees with paid registrations completed by May 15, 2012.
- Provide meeting space for at least 75 attendees.
- Work with NCSM to promote and guarantee 75 Academy attendees.
- Provide 3 hotel recommendations and logistical contacts to NCSM.
