In 2026, NCSM celebrates its 58th Annual Conference, continuing our dedication to the life-long learning of bold mathematics education leaders. NCSM is committed to supporting leaders’ work in inspiring high-quality mathematics teaching and learning every day for each and every learner.

We are excited for you to join us in Denver, Colorado, as we focus on ways to Elevate Bold Mathematical Leadership. Conference sessions will focus on Elevating Access to and Success in Mathematics, Elevating Instructional Excellence and Innovation, Elevating Courageous Leadership and Coaching, and Elevating Mathematical Identity and Agency.

2026 Conference Strands

  • Elevating Access to and Success in Mathematics:  Bold mathematical leaders create inclusive and equitable learning environments by addressing systemic barriers such as bias, tracking, and opportunity gaps.
    Sessions in this strand will emphasize strategies, including how to:

    • Dismantle inequities.
    • Promote culturally responsive practices
    • Ensure that all students—particularly those from historically marginalized communities—have access to and excel in high-quality mathematics education.
  • Elevating Instructional Excellence and Innovation:  Bold mathematical leaders highlight equity-driven instructional practices that integrate innovative teaching strategies, technology, and culturally relevant pedagogy. Sessions in this strand will include ways to:
    • Use research-based methods to foster deeper mathematical understanding.
    • Ensure active participation for diverse learners.
    • Create spaces where all students feel valued and capable.
  • Elevating Courageous Leadership and Coaching: Bold mathematics coaches and other leaders champion equity by driving instructional growth, fostering teacher development, and addressing inequities within schools and districts. Sessions in this strand will include strategies for coaches to:
    • Focus on cultivating a culture of inclusivity.
    • Empower teams to have courageous conversations about systemic inequities.
    • Support the building of a collaborative learning community that promotes equitable access to mathematics education.
  • Elevating Mathematical Identity and AgencyBold mathematical leaders emphasize practices that center equity and inclusion to empower students and educators. Sessions in this strand will include:
    • Ways to affirm and build students’ mathematical identities.
    • Encourage ownership of learning.
    • Strategies to disrupt deficit-based narratives and create conditions for all learners to develop confidence and see themselves as capable mathematicians.

Important Dates:

  • October 15, 2025: Proposal system opens
  • December 5, 2025: Proposal Submission site closes at 11:59 PDT
  • March 20, 2026: Lead presenters will be notified by this date about the status of each proposal
  • April 24, 2026: Deadline for lead presenters to confirm details for accepted sessions
