Jonathan (Jon) Wray is the Coordinator of Secondary Mathematics in the Howard County Public School System. He is a nationally recognized leader and co-author of several books, including the award winning and best seller, The Formative 5, Every Day Assessment Techniques for Every Math Classroom. Jon recently served as an elected member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Board of Directors and is past president of both the Association of Maryland Mathematics Teacher Educators and the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Mr. Wray is a recipient of Maryland's Outstanding Teacher Mentor Award and was selected as Howard County's Outstanding Technology Leader in Education by the Maryland Society for Educational Technology. His interests include: leadership roles of mathematics coaches/specialists; teacher collaboration; effective and engaging teaching and learning strategies; strategic uses of technology; and taking on issues related to access, equity, and student empowerment in mathematics education. Jon received his master's degree from Johns Hopkins University and bachelor's degree from Towson University.
