The purpose of the Mississippi Mathematics Specialist Network (MMSN) is to:

• encourage, support, and advance rigorous mathematics instruction aligned to equitable and research-based practices;
• promote equal access for all students to such practices in order to ensure mathematics proficiency, college and career readiness, and civic engagement;
• inspire, innovate, and diversify leadership in mathematics instruction and teacher education; and
• partner with educators, families, policymakers, and other stakeholders to strengthen the state of mathematics education in Mississippi.

Our network stemmed from the Center for Mathematics and Science Education’s Mathematics Specialist Conference. This conference began in 2011 and has occurred annually since. The MS Mathematics Specialist Network has partnered with this conference and will be host our meeting the evening before this conference takes place on Friday, Nov. 9.

Our Affiliate is so excited about being a part of the NCSM family. We are thankful for the support that we have received from everyone.
