Greetings to all NCSM members from Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont! It is hard to believe that summer is about to begin and we are wrapping up another successful school year here in the Northeast.

NCSM Summer Leadership Academy in Bangor, Maine July 24-26, 2017, REGISTER TODAY!

I am pleased to announce that E1 will be hosting this year’s NCSM Summer Leadership Academy, July 24-26 (Monday-Wednesday) in Bangor, Maine. Connie Schrock, the new President of NCSM will be our keynote speaker. I hope that you can join us for three days of leadership learning! Registration information is on the NCSM website. For the best rates, early bird registration closes on June 24. Bring a team!

Maine license plates have "Vacationland" on them for a reason. We are excited to have our summer leadership academy in beautiful Maine. We suggest you take advantage of being in the area and either come in early or extend your trip to enjoy some of the local attractions. Below are some links that might help you plan some side trips from Bangor. You can rent a car from the Bangor Airport to explore some of the beautiful landscape. Enjoy!

Associated Teachers of Mathematics in Connecticut (ATOMIC)

ATOMIC will be holding their annual conference on December 4 at the Radisson hotel in Cromwell, CT. The theme is "Talking About Mathematics: Putting the Focus on Students’ Lasting Learning" and will feature NCTM past-president Cathy Seeley as the morning keynote speaker with a follow up session at the conference. General registration will open later in June.

Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State (AMTNYS)

AMTNYS will be hosting the New Cubed 2017 conference this summer at Siena College in Loudonville, NY from July 9-12. This joint conference of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New England (ATMNE) and Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New Jersey (ATMNJ) and AMTNYS began last summer with the first event being held at Iona College. The conference features speakers from all three affiliates and a STEM camp for children in grades 1-8 during the conference. The residential nature of this program offers opportunity for collaboration and networking in the evenings at several special events.

AMTNYS has also announced their 67th Annual Fall Conference to be held in Buffalo, NY November 3-4, 2017. The theme is "Full Steam Ahead" and features keynote speakers Ron Larson and Bill Hanlon.

Association of Teachers of Mathematics in Maine (ATOMIM)

ATOMIM is wrapping up a great year of professional learning in the dine and discuss series on formative assessment. The board meets in a retreat in late summer to plan the coming years’ events. We welcome the new President of ATOMIM, Marielle Edgecomb.

Association of Teachers of Mathematics in Massachusetts (ATMIM)

ATMIM is the co-host with ATMNE for the fall 2017 ATMNE conference on November 2-3, 2017. The conference will be held at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center in Marlboro, MA.

The theme is "Common Sense Mathematics" and will feature lunch keynote speakers Tracy Zager and Steve Leinwand with an opening address from Eric Milou. Conference registration is now open!

The Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New England (ATMNE)

ATMNE will hold its Annual Conference November 2-3. This annual meeting brings together all 6 New England Affiliates and will be hosted this year, by the Association of Teachers of Mathematics in Massachusetts (ATMIM). The opening address will be given by Dr. Eric Milou of Rowan University with two lunch keynote speakers, Tracy Zager and Steve Leinwand. It is shaping up to be another fantastic New England Conference! Registration is open!

ATMNE publishes the New England Mathematics Journal and all affiliate members in the 6 New England states have access to the journal electronically as a member benefit at: bilbowdish.ipage.com/atmne/journal.html

New York State Association of Mathematics Supervisors (NYSAMS)

NYSAMS has announced the New York State Mathematics Educators Hall of Fame Dinner and the NYSAMS Leadership Summit will be held at the Adams Mark Hotel and Conference Center in Buffalo on Thursday November 2, 2017, the day before the AMTNYS Conference (November 3-4)

VCTM has announced the date of their fall conference. It will be held at St. Michael’s College on October 16, 2017. Speaker proposals are being accepted until July 15, 2017. Check out their website if you are interested in speaking. NCSM is proud to welcome VCTM as an affiliate organization!
