The Power of a Name

NCSM: Leadership in Mathematics Education
A name connects to the identity and uniqueness of that named. In the case of an organization-ours in particular, it indicates who we are and what we do. It tells what we feel is important and what we think makes a difference in the field. Our name highlights our "Why?" In addition to underscoring our reason for existing, it reveals a promise and a benefit. It attests to our mission to equip and empower " a diverse education community to engage in [bold] leadership that supports, sustains, and inspires high-quality mathematics teaching and learning every day for each and every learner." We are NCSM: Leadership in Mathematics Education. Practice if you must, but call us by our name!

Congratulations, Rosa!
